About Me

Bonjour! I am Claude Martin, an avid cyclist. I grew up exploring the winding country lanes of Brittany by bicycle, falling in love with riding through golden hills under endless blue skies. My trusty Peugeot became my ticket to adventure. I christened her “Zephyr” as my friends and I sailed together over emerald fields and down roads lined with ancient stone cottages and forests straight out of a fairy tale. Cycling was my first taste of freedom.

As a skinny kid, I was always chasing the horizon, powered onward by salty sea air and the triumphant click-clack of my gears. I learned to read the whispers of the wind that curled around me as I pedaled – guiding my travels through villages, over brooks, and into lands unknown. That wind molded me too as it mussed my hair and stung my cheeks pink. I was shaped by the valleys, the meadows, the hidden thickets, and the secret swimming holes. Here in nature, I was at home. When I left for university, I sorely missed those winding roads. My wheels turned but my soul yearned for Brittany’s hills. Stress and anxiety found me in the big city as I bent under the weight of deadlines and ambitions.

I tap-tap-tapped away through sleepless nights, losing myself in a world of screens and artificial light. But when dawn’s glow stirred me from restless dreams, I’d pull Zephyr from her corner. We’d (my friends) trace Paris’ romantic contours as the rising sun set tower tips ablaze in stunning hues of amber and rose. We rode not for destinations, but for the sheer joy of chasing sunbeams across timeworn bridges spanning the Seine. Now as an aspiring writer, I hope to bring readers on a ride as magical as Zephyr’s and mine. I want to share how cycling, nature, and pursuing your passion can nourish both body and soul.
